Science has discovered that the sun has a lifetime. After a long debate, the world finally believed Galileo’s claims about the sun being a star. 1000 years earlier, Prophet Muhammad (saw) was given the revelation in surah Ra’d that the sun runs for a specified term.
In surah Ra’d, ayah 2, God says He “made subject the sun and the moon, each running [its course] for a specified term.” This means that the sun and moon both have a specific course. God made them so that they didn’t crash into each other. If He wanted to, the two objects would collide. It’s a miracle they move in an orbit. God also mentions in surah Luqman ayah 29 “(God) causes the night to enter the day and causes the day to enter the night and has subjected the sun and the moon, each running [its course] for a specified term.’ And in surah Fatir ayah 13 He says, “and He causes the day to enter the night and has subjected the sun and the moon - each running [its course] for a specified term.” And lastly in surah Zumar ayah 5, “He wraps the night over the day and wraps the day over the night and has subjected the sun and the moon, each running [its course] for a specified term’
Every star has a lifetime, but it was not until the 1600’s that the world began to believe that the sun is a star. Galileo, Friedrich Bessel, and Newton were finally, after many failed attempts, able to prove to the world that the sun is a star. The people who found out that stars have a lifetime are even more recent. Fritz Zwicky, Walter Baade, Subrahman Chandrasekhar, Karl Schwarzshild all contributed to this discovery.
In conclusion, what was revealed in the Quran 1400 years ago was proven through science completely in the 20th century. This is one of the miracles of the Quran. It is correct in every aspect, science, or practical life, the Quran has all the right answers.
